ABOUT US

North Vernon Vet 2 Vet is a voluntary peer to peer support group for veterans with mental illness or psychiatric conditions dedicated to helping each other establish meaningful lives in the community.

By sharing our experiences and/or conditions with our peers, we are able to learn new and effective ways of dealing with our problems from someone who can relate first hand.

We have a partnership the VA mental health system ensuring collaborative-clinical supervision.

We hold regular meetings and events throughout the year for our members. Funding for these events come from fundraising projects that we coordinate on a regular basis.

The goal of Vet to Vet is to provide a platform to help Veterans reacclimate make into society, To have meeting to bring vet’s together to talk about things like stress, anxiety, hypertension, trust, avoidance, trauma reminders: anniversaries,  fireworks, triggers, survivors guilt, and sleep are a few.

Vet to Vet was not designed to take away from medical providers or therapist, but to assist. “Empathy not Sympathy”. The primary mission of North Vernon Vet to Vet is to aid veterans and their families as they strive to build better lives. To fully restore the Warrior Spirit by bridging the gap between those who serve and those for whom they served.

We need your continuing support to help us provide this platform to both our veterans and their families by directing family members of support. We provide a spiritual platform as well, in addition by ensuring our veterans have a place to go, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly to talk with each other and learn new and old techniques tried by us.
We tackle different topics each meeting, our meeting are confidential according to the rules of Vet to Vet
